Energy management
Energy management, A comprehensive guide to controlling energy use, published by the Carbon Trust in September 2011, defines energy management as: ‘…the systematic use of management and technology to improve an organisation’s energy performance. It needs to be integrated, proactive, and incorporate energy procurement, energy efficiency and renewable energy to be fully effective.
It suggests that the term energy manager is: ‘…shorthand for the person responsible for implementing the organisation’s energy programme or strategy. In practice, most organisations do not have or need a full-time Energy Manager; there are many part-time Energy Managers.’
